WoW TBC – Getting Started with Heroic Dungeons

Date:

When you are starting out with Heroic Dungeons in TBC, there is a fair amount you need to know. That said, information can be sparse on the internet where these kinds of dungeons are concerned. This is why we are going to be looking at a few things today that can help you kickstart your Heroic Dungeon experience. Once you’ve stocked up on TBC Classic items and have enough WoW TBC gold, we’ll be ready to get stuck in.

Differences in Heroic

Even if you have been plugging away at The Burning Crusade power leveling, you will still need to be prepared for what’s to come in Heroic Dungeons. In this version of the raid, you’ll find that mobs are now at level 71-72, with bosses now being level 72 elites as well. There will be mobs and bosses that also have brand new abilities to use on you too which you may need to spend TBC Classic gold to protect yourself from.

You need to be wary of trash mobs, since they are now capable of doing hefty damage. That said, there shouldn’t be too many issues for you to deal with them. They may have scaled in level but you can still kill them as you would in a normal dungeon. As for bosses, they too will hit a lot harder than before.

Unlocking the Dungeons

The main issue we have with Heroics is unlocking the dungeons first and foremost. Here we will be taking a look at where we need to go to get the Heroic keys. Firstly, there is the Hellfire Citadel. This has dungeons known as Hellfire Ramparts, The Blood Furnace, and the Shattered Halls. The key needed here is the Flamewrought Key which will give you access to dungeons in the Hellfire Citadel. Depending on your faction, you will need to go to Honor Hold or Thrallmar to visit either Logistics Officer Ulrike or Quartermaster Urgronn.

Moving onto the next area, we find ourselves in the Coilfang Reservoir, where The Slave Pens, The Underbog and The Steamvault reside. For this, we are going to need the Reservoir Key. This time we need to be at the Cenarion Expedition, and the Quartermaster we need is Fedryen Swiftspear. Then there’s Auchindoun, which has dungeons such as Mana-Tombs, Auchenai Crypts, Sethekk Halls, and the Shadow Labyrinth.

Another area where we can unlock Heroic Dungeons is at Tempest Keep. Here we have The Mechanar, The Botanica and The Arcatraz. The key that we need is the Warpforged Key, so it’s time for you to find Almaador the Quartermaster. Head over to The Sha’tar in this instance. Finally, there’s the Caverns of Time. This has the Old Hillsbrad Foothills and The Black Morass. We need to find the Key of Time for these dungeons, so go to the Keepers of Time and find the Quartermaster Alurmi.

An exception here as far as keys is concerned for Heroic is the Shattered Halls. You need to take further steps if you want to get your hands on the key for this. If you have engaged in TBC power leveling and you have a level 70 Rogue that has 360 Lockpicking, then you will be able to open the gate. Otherwise, we’ll need to get a Shattered Halls Key ourselves.

One way to do this is to find and kill Smoth Gorlunk over in Shadowmoon Valley. Once you’ve done so, take the Primed Key Mold from him then accept the first quest. Once you’ve turned this in, pick up the Grand Master Dumphry or Grand Master Rohok follow up quests to work towards getting the key. There is also Rohok’s Request, in which you’ll need 4 Mote of Fire, 4 Fel Iron Bar and 2 Arcane Dust. Take these to either Rohok or Dumphry to get the Hotter than Hell quest.

For this part, we’ll be heading to the Hellfire Peninsula. Our objective is to kill a Fel Reaver whilst we are here, which then allows us to make the Charred Key Mold. You’ll need to form a group if you’re going to go after the Fel Reaver too. Take the mold to Rohok or Dumphry to get the Shattered Halls Key in return.

For you to make the most of your time in TBC, you may have considered going to buy TBC gold or even buy WoW TBC accounts. If you are to go down this road, then be wary that the source is legitimate. If will help you to skip past the likes of The Burning Crusade power leveling and such, but you certainly don’t want to be on the wrong end of being scammed either.
